Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, I'm a triathlete on Team USA. I'm heavily immersed in various fields I admire, but sports has always held a special place in my heart. I've been an avid swimmer for more than 20 years. At Pierce College, I was a lifeguard and also competed on the swimming, diving, and football teams.
A car accident in 2017 shattered my left leg and severely fractured several bones, leaving me with two options: have my leg amputated or die. Now, I’m doing things that normal athletes and people are challenged to do.
My goal is to live life to the fullest, and I believe that you can never stop learning. Growing up, I read stories in school of great men I always aspired to be, and I'm one step closer each day. I'm a graduate of 7 associate degrees and currently studying aerospace engineering at CSUN.
Even after my amputation, I still continue to train for triathlons five days a week. I would like to be an inspiration for others in any way possible, and keep up my competitive spirit.
I have been compelled to create and donate prosthetics/bionics. I've already begun designing some prototypes and plan to commence research trials on bionics shortly.
